Sean McCusker

Dr Sean McCusker

Sean McCusker is an Associate Professor of Education at Northumbria University in England. He has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Surrey University where he also learned to juggle and unicycle. He has spent many years in research and development in education and business processes, where he has been applying creative ideas tor use in educational and organisational practice and research.

Rowan van Muysen
Research Fellow

Rowan has a diverse academic background with an undergraduate degree in Politics and Media, a PGCE in Secondary Geography, an MSc in Town and Country Planning and an MA in Education. He has worked in professional environments including as a town planning consultant and now works in the field of education within the secondary PGCE programme at Sunderland University, and as a researcher at Northumbria University. Rowan’s research interests include politics and political ideologies, dominant discourses within society, innovative educational behaviour management systems and the role of groupthink in various settings. Rowan aspires to undertake a PhD in his related fields of interest in the near future.

Andrea Jimenez

Andrea is a spanish theatre director, writer, performer and producer based in Madrid. She holds a BA in LAW and a Postgraduate in “Creating Theatre and Performance” from the London International School of Performing Arts. She is the co-artistic director of multi-award winning theatre company Teatro En Vilo, with whom she creates work since 2012. Her shows have been presented at the Spanish National Theatre (Man Up), Teatros del Canal (Generation Why), Centro Cultural Conde Duque (Interrupted), Teatro Circo Price (Miss Mara), Teatro del Barrio (Cómo hemos llegado hasta aquí), Caixaforum (Locos de amor) and toured extensively in venues and Festivals across Spain, UK, Italy, Cyprus and Portugal
Her work has received several awards such as the prestigious Premio Ojo Crítico 2019, the Jury Award at Festival Presente Futuro in Palermo, Best Show at the Mostra Internacional de Cangas, Best Theatre Talent in Spain or Best Emerging Company at London’s Mimetic Festival-.
As a pedagogue, Andrea has taught clown, storytelling, devising and improvisation in major institutions such as Oxford University, Pune University, Mumbai University, Universitá di Bologna, Círculo de Bellas Artes, la Casa Encendida, CA2M, Festival Clásicos de Alcalá, Spanish National Theatre and many others.

She is now writing and directing “Blast”, a new production at the Spanish National Theatre that will premiere in May 2022 at Teatro María Guerrero.
